Information

Ziele, Inhalte und Methode der Lehrveranstaltung

This course is designed to enhance the master's thesis experience by offering a platform for presenting and critically discussing key elements of your research. Engaging in both roles, as a presenter of your own work and as a constructive critic of your peers' research, is fundamental to this course.

This seminar is tailored for students working on their thesis in the field of banking and finance.

Art der Leistungskontrolle und erlaubte Hilfsmittel

In order to achieve a positive grade you have to meet three basic requirements:

1. Deliver a satisfactory presentation of your thesis work (accounts for 40% of the grade).
2. Actively participate in discussions, providing thoughtful feedback on others' presentations (accounts for 30% of the grade).
3. Provide three (constructive) assessments of other peer presentations (accounts for 30% of the grade).

In order to allow peers to prepare for your presentation a draft version of your presentation slides must be uploaded at least one week prior to your scheduled presentation. This draft can be revised up until the presentation day. Submitting your slides early gives your peers the opportunity to become acquainted with your topic, which fosters more informed and meaningful discussions.

Mindestanforderungen und Beurteilungsmaßstab

Participation in this course is restricted to students who are registered for a master's thesis in banking and finance. Documentation of the thesis topic's approval by the SSC (Study Service Center) is required. At the time of presentation, approximately two-thirds of the thesis must be completed.

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Module A1, as outlined in the Curriculum.

Regular attendance and active participation in all presentations are mandatory for course completion. You must achieve a satisfactory level in both presentation and participation to attain a positive final grade.
